Today I heard the CUCKOO for the first time in 2007. It was an isolated call, coming from the wild garden, and it seems late to me, considering how warm a spring we have had. Have you heard it yet?
April has been a very busy month, so there is quite a bit of catching up for me to do.
Reg and John worked together on the roof of the metal container shed for most of the day, adding an extra flange of felt that will take any surplus water directly into the gutter and the rainwater storage tank when we use the new sprinkler. It was also necessary to change the red tulips that had been in the centre of the roundels.
Reg collected some timber on his way to us this morning, so that he can errect a walk-way along the highest long edge of the 20 by 8 foot plant frame. It will make access to the display easier and therefore safer, and will also be useful when it is hedge cutting time.
