I have a couple staying for a few days who chose us because of the abundance of wildlife that we can see, and on their first day they watched three fox cubs who were checking them out in between playing beside our track.
The guests had only just arrived when a black-skinned mink appeared on top of the wall by the beck, but I didn't see it. I have known about her/his existence for some years now, as my friend David (who lives on the other side of the river) saw a family of them running along the river bank.
Paul is a keen photographer, so I hope he captured the cubs and the Muntjac Deer they also saw, but he really wants to see a kingfisher. I haven't seen one during 2011, but I'll ask John in the morning whether he has.
