I sure hope your heat wave is not as bad as it is here. For the last 5 or 6 days the temperature has hovered around 37 degrees to 39 degrees centerade with 95% humidity. Some reprieve today with 28 degrees. Heat wave to crepe back in next week. Just checking in - have a good day Barbara.

You know Barbara that you have such a passion for birds in your garden. You supply food and habitat to attract your birds. It is my passion to set these specialize bird feeders for humming birds that we fill with sugar water. And I noticed today my first ruby throated humming bird taking in the nectar. A full grown bird is about 1.5 to 2.0 inches long. They are very bright green with a ruby red throat. They are the most incredible little creatures in the world. Their wing speeds are incredibly fast that they can suspend themselves in mid air and fly backwards and forward. When they fly they make a humming noise - hence humming birds. They will put on a show for most of the summer and then migrate back south in early fall.
