Life is still a challenge, but how grateful I am to be alive and hidden away over a mile off the nearest road, and surrounded by the joys of spring.
Now, my biggest challenge is coping with the urgent tasks that, in March, were shared by three people. I've learnt how to put peanuts into feeder/camera #9; add fat balls to the two ring feeders that I watch from my kitchen window and squeeze fat slabs into the wire cages of feeders on cameras #4 and #6. We refer to the position of #6 as "The Sanctuary". Reg built a wire cage underneath the pergola on the front of the house when we noticed that birds of prey were coming by each morning to "collect" their breakfast from the first feeding station that I initially placed in the Courtyard Area opposite the door into the Cottage from the west. This wire cage allows small and medium sized garden birds to feed without having to constantly be on their guard. It's wonderful to see several species tolerate each other within this area. I'm not so good reaching the wire hanging holders for JC Wildlife's 1 litre peanut cakes, though a carving fork looks as though it's going to fit the bill.
Barbara,
Hoping you are keeping well and away from all these dreadful times we are all experiencing.
A note to say thank you for the lovely gift set of cheeses delivered recently. This as a 'winner' of one of your competitions.
We have been trying them all and difficult to decide which cheese is our favourite, they are all very nice. So thanks again.
Always a bit of fun checking out your competition teasers, but sometimes have to admit to using Google.
Anyway keep well and enjoy this little bit of spring weather that hopefully in particular this year, will bring forward hope and improvement for a better rest of the year.
Peter
